Sean Hayes, with opening band Killbossa
THE INDEPENDENT – 628 DIVISADERO STREET – SAN FRANCISCO, CA – 415.771.1421
Killbossa plays music based heavily on Tropicália, a political/musical movement that arose in Brazil in the 1960s. This supergroup of Bay Area creative musicians gives the timeless music of Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Tom Ze and their contemporaries new shape and makes it all their own. Ranging from all-out crunchy psych-rock to quiet, subtle meditations, Killbossa can’t hide its deep love for one of the most honestly raw and surreally beautiful musical traditions of the twentieth century.
Killbossa is:
Aaron Novik, bass clarinet
Melody Ferris, vocals
Dina Maccabee, violin, mandolin
Dave Mihaly, percussion
Eric Perney, bass
Roger Riedlbauer, guitar
Doors 7:30 PM | Show 8 PM
